Functional network structure, meditation, and resting state EEG

Today's presentation is given by Vincent from Institute of Statistical Science on his work. He's interested in the change in the functional network structure resulting from learning meditation. He recorded the data using NeuroScan system with 128 channels. The transfer entropy calculation was done to the recording to construct functional network between principal components for segments of recording each of one second time length, after independent component analysis was used to find these components. It was found the connections from occipital and central to frontal components was enhanced while the connections from parietal to occipital and central components was reduced following 6 weeks of meditation practicing.
