StatPhys-Taiwan-2014: The 12th Taiwan International Symposium on Statistical Physics and Complex Systems

第十二屆台灣統計物理與複雜系統國際會議
Time: June 28-30, 2014
Place: Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica
Website: http://www.phys.sinica.edu.tw/~statphys/activities/conference/2014/

This is a meeting organized by the LSCP here.

Statistical physics is a branch of theoretical physics dealing with systems that are complex and/or have large numbers of degrees of freedom. It is applicable to a wide range of problems ranging from molecules, polymers to global ecological, social, and economical systems. Since 1991, there has been a series of academic meetings and conferences for the field of statistical physics in Taiwan, among which, StatPhys-Taiwan is a biannual meeting taking place in Academic Sinica. As the 12th in the series, StatPhys-Taiwan-2014 this year will feature topics in three major areas of sciences:

  • Physical Sciences:
    • Phase transitions and critical phenomena
    • Slow dynamics
    • Nonlinear dynamics and synchronization
  • Biological Sciences:
    • Protein folding and aggregation
    • Neural networks dynamics
    • Gene regulatory networks
  • Social Sciences:
    • Human activity and networks
    • Econophysics
