Kevin's work on retina, progress and future

As Kevin is going to be absent for Prof. Michael Wong's visit, he will give us a presentation on his work at 1pm on this Thursday. (Maybe show off some of his experimental setups afterwards also.) This will help us understand how each other is doing and may also allow us to relay Kevin's progress to Michael. Update: Brief of presentation
The retinas were obtained from frogs after hearts were used for cardiac studies. Kevin was able to obtain consistent readings for up to 4 hours after the preparation while some resting breaks were still needed for the tissue to recover. The dissociated retinas lacked the pigment producing cells and will loss its pink color shortly after the dissociation. The recordings were typically averaged for 25 runs or more to minimize the noise. No sorting was done on the signal. However, the density of electrodes is comparable or higher than the receptive fields thus signal from an electrode can be considered as reaction of ganglion cells from a single receptive field. Omit stimulus response (OSR) were produced similar to the references. Some frequency dependence of delay time was also assessed.
